Welcome to Party for Literacy - Where friends are gathering to throw an epic party for a worthy cause.
The event will be hosted in a two story 4,000 SF art studio stocked full with local beer, wine, and cocktails. Live performances from Kris Orlowski and a House/Hip Hop DJ set from Action Jackson and Nick Kelly. Hors d’oeuvres will be catered along with Sonia Nelson’s famous Chocolate Chip Rice Crispy Treats!
New Years Eve isn’t the only thing we’ll be celebrating. All ticket proceeds will be donated to Homework Help, an after school tutoring program administered by the Seattle Public Library. As one of the most literate cities in the country, (http://www.ccsu.edu/page.cfm?p=8142) it’s important we recognize volunteer based programs like Homework Help. Seattle wouldn’t be the world class city it is today if it wasn’t for our deep sense of civic responsibility. In the spirit of the New Year, let’s continue to make Seattle great and ensure the longevity of a program that tutored and mentored more than 7,600 students during the last academic year alone.
